There are a lot of great lines in the movie “Forrest Gump,” but one that stands out is when the ball is dropping on New Year’s Eve in New York City, and someone says, ‘That’s the great thing about New Year’s. You get to start over.”
If you haven’t paid as much attention to your smile in the past as you’d like, the start of the New Year is a great opportunity to change this. We’ve seen a number of our patients make New Year’s resolutions to have a better, more confident smile, and we’re delighted to help them achieve it.
If you’d like a better smile in 2012, here are a couple of things to consider: Write down your goal. Studies show you have a much better chance of keeping your resolution if you write it down. Most resolutions get broken because, while noble, they seem unattainable. If you write down what you want to accomplish (the more detailed the better), you start visualizing ways to make it happen.
The second thing that can help you achieve your smile goals is to talk to us. Schedule an appointment or use the Ask the Expert feature on our website. Tell us what you’d like to accomplish, and we’ll provide you with guidance on how to make it happen.
Remember–your resolution can be bold (a complete smile makeover) or simple (taking better care of your teeth). In either case, you come out a winner.
Happy New Year from everyone at Charlotte Dentistry!
